Year 6
Welcome yo year 6!
Your teachers are Miss Barnes-Gott in Ospreys, Miss Holland in Eagles and Miss Griffin in Falcons.
There are many things to look forward to; not least our first educational visit on WW2, to complement this visit, we will be studying the texts Billy the Kid and Anne Frank in our English lessons. The science topic about classification of living things is the focus for the half term. After the October holiday, our focus will be a geography topic about The Caribbean , followed by Black History, Natural Disasters, Trade Links and lastly Crime and Punishment. As you know, we follow the National Curriculum for mathematics which begins every year with place value and then moves through the four operations.
Your child is one of the essential role models for the rest of the school and, as such, will help to embed the school’s culture of the rights to learn, be safe and to play. I am sure that every child in year 6 is driven to produce their best work and is striving to achieve their potential in all school matters. Let’s hope that it is a fantastic year!
